TBILISI, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Five of the six passengers in a car were killed Thursday in the Guria region of western Georgia, after their vehicle was smashed by a detached object from a running trailer, authorities said.
All the dead, including a child, were from one family, according to the ministry.
The accident happened when an "articulated part" dropped unexpectedly from a fast-moving trailer and hit the car travelling behind.
The driver of the trailer, a Kazakh national, was detained.
A probe into the accident is still underway.
A day earlier, a traffic accident on the Adjara-Guria highway injured 28 people.
