TBILISI, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- A traffic accident on the Adjara-Guria highway in western Georgia left 28 passengers injured, four of them in critical condition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said Wednesday.
The tragedy occurred when two minibuses crashed into each other on the highway. One of them was heading from Tbilisi to Batumi and the other from Batumi to Tbilisi, said the ministry.
All the injured were taken to the local Kobuleti hospital. "Four people remain under intensive care," Zaal Mikeladze, local minister of health and social affairs for Adjara, told media.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the accident.
