TIRANA, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Albanian renowned painter Helidon Haliti and the Chinese master of watercolor painting Li Xiaocheng opened Monday in Albanian capital Tirana a joint exhibition titled "Home and Abroad."

"The watercolor exhibition displays sceneries of the Far East and becomes an interactive part of live demonstrations by both artists," the Albanian painter told Xinhua on Monday.

He said the exhibition included 40 works from Albania completed during a 3-4 year span and 40 works of Li Xiaocheng, the Dean of Chaoshan Watercolor Academy in Shantou in south China's Guangdong Province.

"I was in China a month ago and together with Master Li, we had a joint exhibition there. The opening of the exhibition in China was a magnificent surprise for me and I was so happy that my works, my art were welcomed with great enthusiasm by Chinese art lovers," Haliti told Xinhua.

He added that the holding of the exhibition in Tirana was a great responsibility.

Meanwhile, the Chinese artist Li praised the works by Helidon Haliti, saying that such co-operations serve culture exchange between the two countries.

"I have brought a part of Chinese cultural tradition and background so that the Albanian public can get acquainted to some of the Chinese reality through showcasing a combination of culture exchange between Albania and China," Li said.

The exhibition will also move to other cities of Albania such as Durres, Fier, Berat.
