Missing pilots from crashed Myanmar military jet fighter confirmed dead

YANGON, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The two missing pilots from a crashed Myanmar military jet fighter G-4 were confirmed dead, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Monday.

The confirmation came after a search team found some burnt-out parts of the bones and bodies of the victims at the crash site.

Parts of the wristwatches and shoes belonging to the two pilots as well as parachutes that were still attached to the pilot seats and two sets of survival kit of them were respectively discovered, confirming that they died on the spot.

Wreckages of the Myanmar military jet fighter which went missing while conducting flight training on Sept. 5 with two other jet fighters at 57.6 km north-west of Pathein were found in southwestern Ayeyawaddy region last week.

The parts including the head of the jet, a wheel, two wings, a parachute, parts of machines and a PT 2-brand bottle were recovered in 19.2 km south of Gwa town in the region.

The crash is under investigation by the authorities.
