SINGAPORE, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) rising 0.18 percent or 5.97 points to close at 3329.03.
A total of 1.47 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.05 billion Singapore dollars (about 775.39 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 228 to 201.
The STI index closed up 0.12 percent or 3.95 points to 3323.06 on Monday.
