KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Taliban militants fighting the Afghan government to regain power have begun collecting electricity bills in parts of the northern Kunduz province, local newspaper the Daily Outlook reported Wednesday.
The armed militants, according to the paper, often collect money from more than 14,000 power subscribers in Kunduz province that reaches millions of U.S. dollars annually.
Quoting Abdul Hameed Hameedi, head of power utility department in the troubled Kunduz province, the paper added that the move by the armed militants has undermined power authorities' regular practise of electricity bills collection.
