PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- At least two police personnel were killed and two others injured after Taliban militants stormed a police checkpoint on Kabul-Mazar highway in Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province Sunday morning, a police spokesman Mahfozullah Akbari said.
The official without giving more details said that investigation has been initiated into the incident.
Meanwhile, a villager on condition of anonymity said the highway connecting Kabul to the northern provinces was closed for a while and security forces launched operations to clean up the area.
Taliban militants are yet to make comment on the report.
