KABUL, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Thirty people were released from Taliban insurgents' custody in Afghanistan, said National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Tuesday.

The NDS personnel launched seven Special Operations in different places within the last 24 hours. And they also freed 30 people from Taliban detention over the period, NDS, the country's primary intelligence agency, said in a statement.

The statement did not provide further information about the released persons, adding that a total of 24 suspected militants were also detained during the raids.

The Taliban militants have been on the rampage since April when they launched a so-called annual rebel offensive in the country, including the capital of Kabul, killing and injuring hundreds.
