KABUL, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Security forces' crackdown on militants killed three Taliban fighters including a key commander, Qari Ismael alias Mir Mohammadi, in Charkh district of the eastern Logar province on Sunday, the Interior Ministry said in a statement here Monday.
According to the statement, the security forces stormed Taliban positions in Abjush area of Charkh district Sunday evening, killing Qari Ismael and his armed guards and destroying their hideouts.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of the relatively restive province haven't commented yet.
