ISLAMABAD, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces have arrested 6 terror suspects and seized arms during search operations in two tribal regions, the military said on Tuesday.

The security forces on Tuesday carried out search operations in parts of Mohmand tribal agency, bordering Afghanistan, on reports of terrorist hideout, a statement from the army's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations said.

Suicide jackets, improvised explosive devices, rockets, hand grenades, detonators, huge amount of various calibre ammunition and communication equipment were also recovered, it said.

Meanwhile, the paramilitary Frontier Corps also conducted search operations in Orakzai Agency tribal region and arrested six suspects, the statement further said. A cache of arms and ammunition including rockets and mortars were also recovered.

The operations are part of the major offensive codenamed "Radd-ul-Fasaad" or "reject discord" in English which, currently underway across the country, was launched in February this year to "eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country" after over 100 people were killed in a series of terrorist attacks.
