TRIPOLI, June 13 (Xinhua) -- A militia allied with Libya's UN-backed government on Tuesday denied the release of Gaddafi-government officials.

"No prisoners have been released without a court order. We support only justice," the militia said via Facebook.

The militia said that a meeting sponsored by the Tripoli Higher Council for Reconciliation was held with elders of different regions of the country to discuss issues of national reconciliation.

Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, a son of Libya's toppled former leader Muammar Gaddafi, was released on Saturday from his prison in the city of Zintan, 180 km southeast Tripoli, by the militia detaining him.

The military and city councils of Zintan on Sunday objected to the release of Al-Islam Gaddafi, saying the release was "a collusion and betrayal to the martyrs and a stab to the military establishment that they claim to belong to."

Moreover, Tripoli's Attorney General Ibrahim Masoud Ali on Sunday said that the release of Al-Islam Gaddafi was illegal, and that the "amnesty he needs to be released required a legal waiver from the families of the victims. Moreover, the suspect is wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity."

Ali said that his office is investigating those involved in the release of Al-Islam Gaddafi.
