YAOUNDE, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- At least two people, including one civilian, were killed in a suicide attack executed by terror group Boko Haram on Tuesday night in the Cameroonian Far North Region, a local source told Xinhua.
The attack occurred between 19:00 and 20:00 local time (2000 and 2100 GMT) in Amchide in the Mayo-Sava Division bordering Nigeria, which is a stronghold of Boko Haram, according to local residents.
A villager was killed by the suicide bomber, who wanted to take advantage of the darkness in tandem with people's distraction during prayer-time.
The Mayo-Sava Division has witnessed six deaths attributed to Boko Haram since Monday.
A young suicide bomber carrying explosive charges attacked the Abdoulaye mosque in Kerawa at 05:45 local time (0645 GMT) Monday, killing three including himself. Four hours later, a truck driver was killed by Boko Haram on National Road One in Mayo-Sava.
With many celebrations and festivities held at the end of the year, we are now increasingly worried about security, a source from the local government of Mayo-Sava told Xinhua, calling for residents to be extra-cautious and for additional security reinforcement in conflict zones.
