ABUJA, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Nigerian troops have killed four suspected Boko Haram fighters in a raid in the northeastern state of Borno, an army spokesman said on Wednesday.
A suspected commander of the group was also captured in the raid on Tuesday, as troops combed some villages in the northern fringes of the Sambisa Forest, the former training camp of the terror group in Borno, said army spokesman Sani Usman.
Usman said the captured terrorist leader, identified as Amman Judee, is now under interrogation.
Last weekend, troops in Borno killed 14 Boko Haram fighters in another military operation.
Nigeria has made considerable gains against the terror group, dislodging its fighters from the Sambisa Forest early this year.
Boko Haram has been blamed for the death of more than 20,000 people and displacement of 2.3 million others in Nigeria since 2009.
