NEW DELHI, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- A trainer aircraft belonging to Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed Friday in southern Indian state of Telangana, police said.

No loss of life was reported in the crash as police said a woman cadet ejected safely minutes before the crash.

The aircraft crashed in Siddipet district, about 103 km north of Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana.

"Kiran trainer aircraft crashed in Telangana's Siddipet today. However, a woman cadet on board, who was undergoing fighter training, had ejected in time," a police official said.

Reports said the woman pilot was immediately removed to nearby hospital by the locals for treatment.

The trainer aircraft, according to officials, took off from Hakimpet Air Force station and was on a sortie.

Local media reports said the helicopter was trying for an emergency landing but failed, resulting in its crash.

The reason behind the crash was being ascertained.

In September, an aircraft crashed in a similar manner in Keesara village near Hyderabad.

An Indian navy plane crashed on Tuesday soon after taking off from a naval airport in Kerala state. The remotely piloted aircraft searcher was on a routine surveillance mission.
