Vietnam's parliament adopts 6 new laws

HANOI, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- The 14th National Assembly of Vietnam, the country's top legislature, approved six laws and reviewed nine bills on Friday.

The six laws include those on management of public debt (amendment), management and protection of forest (amendment), fishery (amendment), planning, credit institutions (amendment), and the overseas representative agency of Vietnam, Le Bo Linh, the National Assembly's deputy secretary general and the National Assembly Office's vice chairman, told reporters.

The nine draft laws include those on accusation (amendment), national defense, cyber security, physical exercises and sports, measurement and map, competition (amendment), protection of state secrets, prevention and combating corruption (amendment), and special administrative-economic units.

During the month-long session, the legislature passed six resolutions, including those on the project of land confiscation, compensation, support and resettlement for Long Thanh international airport in southern Dong Nai province, on the proposal of North-South eastern highway construction from 2017 to 2020, and on pilot mechanisms and policies for Ho Chi Minh City development.

During the session, 3,320 proposals and claims by voters and people across Vietnam were lodged to the National Assembly, Linh said, adding that lawmakers sent 105 written questions and made 194 direct questions to the prime minister and ministers.
