Venezuelan cyclist wins fifth lap Tour de Singkarak

JAKARTA, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Cyclist of Venezuela Yonatta Alejandro Monsalve took the first position at the fifth lap of Tour de Singkarak in West Sumatra province of Indonesia.

The lap has the hardest route with a total distance of 153.2 kilometers. Monsalve grouped in Tianyoude Sycling team and finished in 3 hours 57 minutes and 10 seconds.

Khalil Khorsid in Tabriz Shahrdary team finished second in 3:57:14.

Daniel Whitehouse from CCN finished third with time gap 5 seconds, Antara news wire reported on Wednesday.

Whhitehouse admitted that the route in the fifth lap was hard and so did the competition among the cyclists.

"This competition is fierce and the route is hard. I must struggle hard so, so that I get this position," he said

A total of 108 cyclists from 25 countries and regions are competing in the Tour de Singkarak which kicked off on Nov. 18 and will end on Nov. 26.

The tour covers a total distance of 1,097 kilometers.
