TOKYO, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Wednesday as Wall Street's record overnight finishes saw investors' risk appetite improve.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 106.67 points, or 0.48 percent, from Tuesday to end the day at 22,523.15.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 5.95 points, or 0.34 percent, to close at 1,777.08.
Oil and coal product, machinery and mining-related issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
