German cyclist wins third phase in Indonesia's int'l W. Sumatra cycling competition

JAKARTA, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) - A German cyclist, Muller Robert, won on Monday the longest phase contended in the ongoing 2017 Tour de Singkarak (TdS) international cycling competition held in Indonesia's West Sumatra province.

Muller, who joined Embrace The World Cycling team, recorded the fastest time in the phase at 4 hours 04 minutes and 53 seconds.

Coming up as the runner-up and third position in the phase were Malaysian cyclist from Terengganu Cycling Team Goh Coon Huat and Australian cyclist from CCN Cycling Team Volkers Samuel.

The third phase that began from Muara Sijunjung to Dharmasraya regencies takes 161.3 kilometers from the total of 1,196.2 kilometers of TdS route that crosses 18 regencies and municipalities in the province.

The 9th TdS event this year was participated by over 100 cyclists of 20 teams from 36 countries and regions. The organizer has set a total of 9 phases in the cycling event that slated to end on Sunday after it was opened on Saturday last week.
