NEW DELHI, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- India's Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recalled his controversial memoir following sharp criticism from two of his former women friends for detailing his relationships with them.

Siddiqui's decision to recall the book -- An Ordinary Life -- came days after its release on Oct. 16.

In the book he described intimate details of his personal life and of his affairs with Niharika Singh and Sunita Rajwar, which landed him in trouble.

Both Singh and Rajwar have described Siddiqui's revelations as false.

Following the controversy, Siddiqui apologized on social media and announced his decision to recall the book.

"I am apologising to everyone whose sentiments are hurt because of the chaos around my memoir, An Ordinary Life. I hereby regret and decide to withdraw my book," Siddiqui wrote on his Facebook and Twitter late on Monday.

Siddiqui has acted in over 50 films since he joined Bollywood in 1999. He is considered as one of Bollywood's most talented actors, starring in acclaimed films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Lunchbox, Manjhi, Black Friday and Badlapur among others.
