SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Four people were injured in a shooting incident Friday evening in San Francisco, the U.S. State of California, a local TV station reported.

The report quoted police sources as saying that the shooting took place in an area near the U.S. fast food restaurant McDonald's on Fillmore Street between Turk Street and Golden Gate Avenue in downtown San Francisco, a major tourist city in western California.

All the four victims, who received non-life threatening injuries, were hospitalized, the report said.

Police have arrested two suspects believed to be involved in the shooting case.

Two days earlier, three suspects were detained in a two-day violent crime spree that crossed four Bay Area cities late September, according to the Police Department of San Jose, a city about 70 kilometers south of San Francisco.

The three suspects, together with another two people still at large, were accused of committing multiple violent crimes, including a San Jose homicide as well as sexual assaults and armed robberies, all of which occurred at brothels last month, the police said.

However, the TV report said the police did not say whether Friday's shooting incident had any connection with the violence last month.
