MAIMANA, Afghanistan, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- At least 12 militants loyal to the Taliban have been killed and two others wounded in airstrikes in northern Faryab province, an official said on Monday.
"The country's air-force launched two consecutive air operations on Sunday night, leaving 12 Taliban insurgents dead and injuring two others in Pashtunkot and Shirin Tagab districts of the province," Nasratullah Jamshidi, spokesman of 209 Shaheen Corps, told Xinhua.
Taliban militants who have intensified operations over the past couple of weeks haven't commented yet.
