BEIRUT, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's General Directorate of State Security announced Thursday that it arrested a suspected extremist cell planning terror attacks across the country.
The alleged terror cell of four Syrian nationals was busted in the southern district of Hasbaya.
The suspects had monitored strategic locations to carry out bombings, State Security said.
The head of the cell reportedly acknowledged that he had established groups loyal to Islamic State (IS) on social networking sites and published instructions on how to manufacture explosive vests, jackets and mines.
