SINGAPORE, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) rising 0.18 percent or 5.88 points to close at 3334.91.
A total of 3.25 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.59 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.17 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 285 to 180.
The STI index closed up 0.18 percent or 5.97 points to close at 3329.03 on Tuesday. Market on Wednesday was closed for Deepavali holiday.
