Investigative committees of Armenia, Belarus, Russia deepen cooperation

YEREVAN, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Heads of the Investigative Committees of Armenia, Belarus and Russia signed bilateral memorandums on cooperation here Wednesday, the official website of the Investigative Committee of Armenia said.

Aghvan Hovsepyan, Ivan Noskevich and Alexander Bastrykin, heads of the Investigative Committees of Armenia, Belarus and Russia, respectively,signed memorandums between the Investigative Committees of Armenia and Belarus, as well as of Armenia and Russia.

After the signing ceremony, Hovsepyan said the memorandums "will deepen cooperation in the field of pre-trial investigation, new methods of expert research, scientific and practical seminars and conferences, exchange of experience and others."

The heads of the committees also took part in a joint session of the board of the Investigative Committees of Armenia, Belarus and Russia.

Later Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received the leaders of the Investigative Committees of Belarus and Russia.

Sargsyan said professional cooperation and exchange of experience between state structures of partner countries was very important, especially when new technologies and opportunities were emerging and helping to find the most productive solutions, thereby increasing their effectiveness.

Since 2016, cooperation between the Investigative Committees of Armenia, Belarus and Russia has entered an active phase. On Sept. 14, 2016, they issued a statement on the need to intensify cooperation.
