MADRID, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- A 70-year-old man has become the fourth person to have died as a series of deliberately started wildfires continue to cause burn in the north-western Spanish community of Galicia on Monday.

"There was intense intention to cause damage in places where it would mean the most impact; this time in urban areas, villages and cities," he added.

Monday also sees a further 35 fires in the neighboring region of Asturias, while 105 focal points remain active in Galicia, 19 of which are described as posing a "real risk" to urban areas, with fires close to the major cities of Lugo, Vigo, Ourense and Pontevedra.

Meanwhile over 30 people have died and 51 people were injured as fires continue to rage in neighboring Portugal.
