Chinese shares close lower Monday

BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.35 percent to close at 3,378.8 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.12 percent lower at 11,271.2 points.
