BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- As an additional security measure during the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah's accession to the throne, the whole of Brunei-Muara District is declared as a restricted airspace on Saturday.

Brunei's Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) said in a statement that the Brunei-Muara District is declared as a restricted airspace during the opening ceremony of the Sungai Kebun Bridge, procession of decorated floats and fireworks display on Saturday and the opening ceremony of the eco-corridor on Oct. 22.

With this declaration, only authorized aircraft including drones are allowed to be operated in this airspace.

Failure to comply with this requirement is in contravention of laws and regulations of Brunei's Civil Aviation Order, DCA warned.

The year of 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah's accession to the throne. The country holds a series of celebrations and religious activities for the Golden Jubilee in October.
