JAKARTA, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will visit Indonesia next week, as the two sides are expected to further expand cooperation, an official of Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Friday.

The ministry's spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir said that Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi was scheduled to accompany Indonesian President Joko Widodo in receiving Sheikh Tamim during the latter's visit, scheduled from Tuesday to Wednesday next week.

"The Qatari leader's visit to Jakarta was a reciprocal to President Widodo's visit to Doha in September 2015," he added.

The spokesman said the two sides will discuss bilateral cooperation in various sectors, among others medical services, culture, youths, sports and air transport.

He added that a business forum has also been scheduled, facilitating 40 Indonesian businessmen and 43 Qatari counterparts.

"The business forum would allow them to explore business contracts in sectors they preferred for," he said.

Indonesia and Qatar's two-way trade stood at 900 million U.S. dollars last year. Indonesia exports furnitures, plastics and auto parts to Qatar, while importing oil from the Middle East country.
