SYDNEY, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Australian dollar was marginally lower against the greenback on Wednesday with very light trading volumes overnight.
At the Asian market open at 07:00 (AEDT), the local unit was buying 77.82 US cents, down from 77.86 U.S. cents on Tuesday.
"To be frank, the market is really waiting on Friday's CPI as the next key watch point, along with retail sales, including whether they were affected by the hurricanes," National Australia Bank economist David de Garis said.
At 09:30 (AEDT), the Australian dollar was buying 77.78 U.S. cents.
