HONG KONG, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Zhang Ling of Hong Kong, China crashed out of the 2017 Hong Kong Tennis Open after being eliminated by Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland 6-1, 6-2 in the first round here on Tuesday.

The No. 4 seed Radwanska yielded four points on her serve as she held with authority to bag the opening set 6-1.

"From the first set, I should be more aggressive. I tried to change my strategy, but it seems that my opponent was too strong to beat. I tried my best and every match I made some progress," said Zhang, who believed she could do better in the future.

Zhang began the second set with a hold of serve, but looked in vain for an opportunity to break her opponent, while Radwanska dominated the field and fired over a cross-court winner to cruise into the second round.

"I'm just very happy to win my first match in Hong Kong, conditions are not easy, so I'm very happy to get through and win that match in two sets, ready for the next one," said Radwanska, who failed to defend her title at the China Open last week.

Radwanska will face Samantha Stosur of Australia in the second round.

World No. 3 Elina Svitolina of Ukraine leads the field as the top seed at the 500,000 U.S. dollars WTA International Series event, which takes place from October 7 to 15 at Victoria Park Tennis Stadium.
