TUNIS, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Eight dead bodies have been recovered from the island of Kennah by Tunisian national marine unit after a ship sinking, the Tunisian Ministry of Defense said Monday.

The national marine unit saved 38 people among the crew, the source said.

The ship was intercepted about 54 kilometers from the island before collided with that of Tunisian national marine.

An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances of the incident. And the operation is continuing in the attempt to recover other missing persons.
