BRUSSELS, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Belgium's federal prosecutor and his French counterpart have found an agreement on Thursday afternoon to have Paris terror suspect Salah Abdeslam attend his trial in Brussels in December, local media reported.
Jailed in France since he has been arrested on March 18 of 2016, Abdeslam, a Belgian-born French national, is the last survivor of the group that launched the Paris terror attacks in November 2015.
Abdeslam and his accomplice were captured in Brussels after having fired on police officers. Abdeslam is expected to attend in trial from Dec. 18 to 22.
The Belgian federal prosecutor's spokesman, Eric Van Der Sypt, said in a statement that both prosecutors found an agreement to ensure the attendance of Abdeslam to his trial.
However, that decision still needed to be reviewed by Brussels' criminal court and its equivalent in France.
Abdeslam and its accomplice Sofian Ayari were charged with attempted terrorist murder over the shooting in Brussels, where the third accomplice Mohamed Belkaid was killed. Three police officers were injured during that gun battle.
