MUMBAI, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- India's services PMI rose to 50.7 in September from 47.5 in August, boosted by new business orders. This is the first time the index has been above 50 for three months.

In PMI parlance, a score above 50 means expansion while a score below that denotes contraction.

India's manufacturing PMI in September, previously released, was also above 50, at 51.2.

As a result, the Nikkei India composite PMI, which includes manufacturing and services, rose to 51.1 in September, up from 49 in August.

Market analysts said that India service and manufacturing PMI in September located above 50 at the same time showed that India's economy has recovered from some impact of the goods and services tax (GST) reform.
