TOKYO, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced in the morning, with the benchmark Nikkei stock index hitting a one-month intraday high as Wall Street's gains overnight lifted the market mood here with buying supported by a softer yen versus the U.S. dollar.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 195.65 points, or 1.00 percent, from Monday to 19,741.42.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 13.45 points, or 0.83 percent, to 1,625.71.

Insurance, securities and nonferrous metal-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
