JAKARTA, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- A total of five people were killed with another suffering from serious injury after an onboard explosion in a tanker owned by state oil and gas company Pertamina, spokesman of national search and rescue office Marsudi said here on Saturday.
The Gamkonora, an 80-meter-long tanker, is used by Pertamina to transport crude oil.
The explosion took place while the tanker was being repaired at a dry dock in Tanjung Uncang of Batam in Riau Islands of western Indonesia, the spokesman said.
"All the five bodies have been held in a hospital and the wounded person has got medical treatment there," he told Xinhua by phone.
The dry dock was owned by PT ASL Shipyard Indonesia, according to him.
