YANGON, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has voiced her support to Myanmar's efforts for peace, stability and development in northern Rakhine state, Myanmar News Agency reported Tuesday.

Marsudi made the pledge when she met with State Counselor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi in Nay Pyi Taw Monday.

They also exchanged views on matters relating to humanitarian and development assistances to Rakhine state and enhancement of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Marsudi also met with U Kyaw Tint Swe, minister of the Office of the State Counselor.

Indonesia has taken various measures to encourage the government of Myanmar to immediately restore security and stability in Rakhine state, said the report.

Myanmar and Indonesia are seeking ways to promote cooperation in anti-terrorism in the region and a special meeting involving senior officials of the two countries was held in the capital in late last month.
