TIANJIN, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Four years after winning the champion in China's 12th National Games, 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Duan Jingli again dominated the final of women's single sculls at the 13th National Games in Tianjin on Tuesday.

It took Duan seven minutes and 32.49 seconds to finish the final with an advantage of nearly four seconds over Chen Yunxia of Shanghai, Wu Mengchan from Tianjin took the bronze.

Duan became the first Olympic medalist of Chinese women's single sculls by winning the bronze in Rio de Janeiro, eight years after Zhang Xiuyun created the former best rank by finishing fourth in Beijing Olympic Games.

"I think I did well today just like in the Olympic Games." said Duan. This is the first major events she participated in after the 2016 Olympic Games and she only trained for three months, not to mention the lingering injuries.

"I always think I am capable of winning the champion," she said, "but I am also impressed by the performances of Chen and Wu when I realize that they are four or five years younger than me."

"I believe that we'll prepare for the Tokyo Olympic Games together in the future." added Duan.
