ACCRA, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will embark on a three-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea, beginning on Monday.

The visit is at the invitation of Equatorial Guinea President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, according to a release of The Presidency of Ghana.

According to the release, the visit will also give further impetus to the June 2017 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the respective ministers of energy of the two nations, in relation to the supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from Equatorial Guinea.

President Akufo-Addo is anticipated to sign a government-to-government Heads of Agreement with his counterpart for the supply of LNG from Equatorial Guinea to Ghana for a five-year period.

"The execution of this agreement is intended to augment domestic supply over the period, and improve further the power situation in Ghana, both for local consumers and industry," said the release.
