JERUSALEM, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Israel on Monday charged three Palestinians with security offenses, conspiracy to carry out a murder, illegally carrying a weapon and rioting.

According to the indictment, they were part of a cell that met several times from March 2017 until their arrest in July 2017.

They have planned a shooting attack against Israeli vehicles near Nablus and planned to plant explosives on the road, the charges said.

They are also charged with rioting and stone throwing at Israeli security forces.

The defendants includes cousin of a Palestinian teen who was burnt alive by Israeli extremists in 2014.

The slain Palestinian teen, Muhamad Abu Khdeir, was kidnapped at the age of 16 by three ultra-nationalist Israelis from near his home Shuafat in East Jerusalem.

He was on his way to say his morning prayers at the local mosque, when he was forced into a car, and taken to the Jerusalem Forest, where the kidnappers hit him, strangled him and finally burned him alive.

The kidnappers were convicted of murder, with one sentenced to 21 years in prison and two to life in prison.

Earlier in 2017, an Israeli court rejected a plea by Hussein Abu, the father of the victim, to demolish the murderers' homes, as Israeli frequently does with Palestinians who were charged with killing Israelis.
