KAMPALA, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- The visiting Zimbabwe Sables are ready to prove their point against hosts Uganda when they battle on Saturday in the 2017 Africa Rugby Gold Cup here in the capital Kampala.
Sables Head coach Cyprian Garikai Mandenge told Xinhua on Thursday that they are here for a mission.
"After losing at home to Tunisia last weekend, we are determined to come all out and get a win in Uganda," added the coach.
The Zimbabwe team is in fourth place on the log with six points, while Uganda are third on 11 points. Namibia retained the trophy last weekend after stopping Kenya.
Hilton Mugariki, one of the senior players, told Xinhua that although they are aware Uganda is a hard team to defeat on their home ground, they are here to play good rugby.
"We are here to play the best rugby and bag maximum points," added Mugariki.
"We are going to make sure we start the game on a high to score early tries. It is team work that will get us the win against Uganda," added another player Scott Edward Jores.
Hosts Uganda and Zimbabwe together with Namibia and Kenya have already qualified for the next round of the World Cup qualifiers since they are assured of the top four places.
Tunisia will also be looking for a win or draw against Senegal in their last match on Saturday to be able to remain in the Rugby Gold Cup and also in the World Cup qualifiers.
