LONDON, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Greater Manchester police said Tuesday that an armed man is believed to be locked inside a property, along with a woman and two children, Sky News reported.
Police negotiators are at the scene and say they are dealing with a hostage situation in Shaw, near Oldham.
They were called at 3.15 p.m. local time and are continuing to engage with him and trying to bring the situation to a "safe resolution", according to the report.
Some 44 homes have been evacuated, it said.
