HANOI, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 32.8 million people, or over a third of Vietnam's population, plays online games, according to an international games data site.

The Vietnamese people are expected to spend 365 million U.S. dollars on virtual entertainment this year, making it the 28th biggest market in the world, announced the Amsterdam-based market intelligence provider Newzoo.

Most of Vietnamese players are in the age bracket of 10-50, with more than half of them aged 21-35 and usually with a paid job, local online newspaper VnExpress quoted the survey's results as reporting on Wednesday.

Notably, women account for 43 percent of active players on personal computers, defined by those who play more than once a month, regardless of the small ratio of games designed for women.

In 2016, Chinese online games accounted for over 95 percent of the total games launched in Vietnam, local leading game publisher Soha Games told Xinhua recently.
