HONG KONG, July 13 (Xinhua) -- A 6.7-magnitude earthquake jolted 42km SSE of Taron, Papua New Guinea at 033611 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 33.0 km, was initially determined to be at 4.8339 degrees south latitude and 153.16 degrees east longitude.
