Passenger dies after becoming ill onboard Iranian flight

TEHRAN, July 10 (Xinhua) -- A passenger died on Monday after suffering from emergent health problem onboard an Iranian flight, which made emergency landing in northern Iran.

The traveller, onboard Iran's Mahan Air Flight 085 en route from Moscow to Tehran, died despite efforts made to save his life in the Rasht Sardar Jangal airport, Tasnim news agency reported.

The report did not disclose the passenger's identity.

Mahan Air's flights have already made several emergency landings in recent years due to various problems.

In 2015, a Boeing 747 operated by the airline landed at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport after a part of its engine was detached from the plane, according to the report.
