Delta flight turns back to Seattle after passenger incident

SAN FRANCISCO, July 6 (Xinhua) -- A Delta Air Lines flight turned back on Thursday evening to Seattle after a passenger reportedly tried to enter cockpit and hurt three people.

Delta Flight 129, initially taking off for Beijing, China, returned to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in the U.S. Pacific Northwest around 7:40 p.m. local time (0240 GMT).

The incident was triggered, according to a statement from Delta, by a "security incident" on the twin-aisle Boeing 767-300ER passenger plane.

Unconfirmed media reports reaching here said a man attacked a flight attendant, trying to enter the cockpit.

The man was restrained, removed and taken into custody by law enforcement officers after the flight returned to the gate, according to Delta's statement.

The reportedly injured included two passengers and one crew member.
