Indonesia's Manado to hold grand tourism festival in September

JAKARTA, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's North Sulawesi province capital Manado is scheduled to hold a grand tourism festival from September 1 to 10 to feature various entertaining events in the entire city popularly known with its spectacular marine destination.

The 2017 Manado Fiesta Festival, called Manado7, will offer seven attractions, consisted of fisCo (Fish and Coral), fashion, food, flying, fun music, fair and faith.

The festival would constitute Manado's entire residents regardless their beliefs and groups, aimed at further promoting the city as an ultimate international destination that has many beautiful diving spots around, Manado Municipal spokesperson Steven Runtuwene said in a statement recently.

Various tourism activities have been prepared in several parts of the city. The festival will begin with fisco, an event that will display the best of undersea attraction around Manado.

Fashion show and flying events will follow later with the latter one being held in the city's higher ground of Tumpa, enabling visitors to experience various aerial adventures including paragliding.

Music and culinary events are scheduled to close the grand festival. Visitors will have ample of chances to experience local Manado delicacies, which is well known for its seafood, while listening to jazz music in Manado Bay.

The tropical destination is increasingly popular among foreign visitors, particularly from China, in recent years.
