Pakistan strongly condemns terrorist attacks in Iran

ISLAMABAD, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Iran which, according to the Iranian officials, has killed 12 people and injured dozens of others.

Iranian official media has reported that two attacks were launched at Imam Khomeini's mausoleum and the parliament.

"The government of Pakistan has strongly condemned today's terrorist attacks on Iranian Parliament and mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in which, reportedly, precious lives of innocent people have been lost. We stand in solidarity with the people of Iran in their hour of grief," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"Pakistan condemns terrorism, which is a global phenomenon and common challenge, requiring resolute and coordinated approach to deal with the menace," the statement said.

The Foreign Ministry offered deep condolences to the government and people of Iran, the government as well as the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.
