TEHRAN, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Shooting inside the Majlis (parliament) of Iran on Wednesday morning has led to death of at least one security guard and the injury of eight others, local media reported.

Four armed people entered the Majlis on Wednesday morning and started shooting, Akbar Ranjbarzadeh, the lawmaker, told state IRIB TV.

The assailants are still inside the Majlis and have entered the offices of some lawmakers, Ranjbarzadeh was quoted as saying.

The entrance and the exit doors of the Majlis have been closed and the security guards have the situation under control, the report said.

Several ambulances have been dispatched to the area to help the wounded people.

TEHRAN, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Shooting inside the Majlis (parliament) of Iran on Wednesday morning has led to death of at least one security guard and the injury of eight others, local media reported.
