CHICAGO, May 26 (Xinhua) -- A Cessna plane crash-landed at a Michigan airport on Friday afternoon, leaving two people on board injured.
The fixed wing, single-engine prop plane was attempting to land at Plainwell Airport, some 100 kilometers west of the Michigan State capital Lansing, when it "ran out of runway", local media quoted Scott Matice from Allegan County Sheriff's Office as saying.
Four people were on board and two of them were sent to a nearby hospital for minor injuries, he said.
Online pictures showed the Cessna plane was stuck in a grass-covered ditch near a highway following the crash, with its fuselage seemingly intact.
On board the plane were Plainwell Middle School students, who had "minor scrapes and bruises," according to the school administration.
An investigation into cause of the crash-landing is underway.
