BRATISLAVA, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Several foreign ministers and international experts are gathering to discuss international security and defense at the 12th annual GLOBSEC conference which began here Friday.
"The summit comes during challenging times with many armed conflicts," said Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak.
"This is why we need such an event as GLOBSEC. Where diplomacy fails, figures from the defense industry must take the stage," he added.
Featuring 1,300 participants from 70 countries, the annual conference in Bratislava will discuss the fourth industrial revolution, global changes and trends, the future of the West and western institutions, and globalization versus protectionism.
